Announcing Death of Classical's 2025 Season!

VIEW THE FULL SEASON HERE!

My Dear, Dark Denizens of Death of Classical,

It's been a minute, but we're finally ready to emerge from our underground lair, where we've been busy cooking up some Anthony Bourdain-level musical adventures for you... and now, we are utterly overwhelmed with joy to share details of our 2025 Season with you!

This is a groundbreaking season, including continuations of our acclaimed Crypt Sessions concerts and Angel's Share Catacombs & Cemetery series, a return to the Crypt under the Cathedral of St. John the Divine following our wildly successful first run this past Fall, an absolutely insanely opulent presentation of the New York debut of The Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra, and – perhaps most exciting of all – DoC's first ever expansion outside of New York (many more details to come on that, but for now just put Nov 8, in Los Angeles, on your calendars!).

Crypt Sessions under the Church of the Intercession include the famed pianist Jonathan Biss playing late Schubert sonatas and commissions (May 7-9), star violinist Simone Porter performing her ad tendo program (May 29), The Parker Quartet with Jay Campbell playing the magnificently celestial Schubert Cello Quintet (Oct 28-29), and our beloved, heart-obliterating holiday tradition of Ekmeles singing David Lang's Little Match Girl Passion (Dec 2-4)

The Angel's Share series at Green-Wood Cemetery & Catacombs kicks off with a bang: Cocktails, Comestibles & Callas (May 23), and then moves to three outdoor in-the-round performances of David Malloy's Ghost Quartet (June 26-28), before heading to the Catacombs for The Ariel Quartet playing Beethoven's Op. 131 String Quartet (Sept 4-6), and Paola Prestini's Houses of Zodiac (Oct 1-3)

We'll make history on July 23, presenting the New York debut of the Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra, as part of its first-ever U.S. tour, in a wine-tinged performance at L'Alliance, followed by an over-the-top, opulent post-show experience at the Freeman's | Hindman Town House. We'll announce tickets on-sale date, and full program details, soon - don't miss out on this one!

We'll also return to the Crypt under the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for a series of performances Nov 19-21, with details and tickets to be announced.

Lastly, we'll be expanding beyond New York for the first time in DoC's history, presenting a large-scale immersive performance in Los Angeles on Nov 8! There will be much, much more to come on this - but for our West Coast friends, please mark the calendars now!

You can see individual concert details below and on our Website Events Page.

Thank you for being on this wild, beautiful journey with us, and we'll look forward to seeing you in a Crypt, Catacomb, Cemetery – or Insanely Opulent French Baroque Extravaganza – soon!

Your humble moss-less stone, with deep subterranean thanks,

Andrew
