Announcing artists & program for Hot Dogs, Hooch, & Handel
Friends,
I'm writing today to tell you about Hot Dogs, Hooch, & Handel - our long-anticipated follow-up to Burgers, Bourbon, and Beethoven, and an event that shall be spoken of in reverent whispers for generations to come. This sensational sausage-log celebration shall take place in the shadows of Green-Wood Cemetery's landmarked Gothic Arch on May 27 from 7-10PM (rain date May 28, but it won't rain!).
This fabulous festival of frankfurters will feature:
- A veritable panoply of hot dog purveyors, peddling a variety of wondrous weenies (including vegan selections!) for purchase. We'll also have heaping piles of snacks on hand that are included in the ticket price
- A spectacular spread of spirits, by the likes of Van Brunt Stillhouse, Lost Explorer Mezcal, L'Orgeat, and Appalachian Gap Distillery, and more, is also included with your ticket!
- A rousing performance of Handel's works, by a crackling Baroque ensemble, directed by the great Elliot Figg (who led our Dido & Aeneas opera performances in the Catacombs!). We'll also have Brooklyn legends The Grand Street Stompers serenading us at sunset with some sweet swing jazz
- Spirits dogs, jazz, and chamber music... CAN. YOU. EVEN. HANDEL. IT?
Charles Feltman himself (inventor of the hot dog and permanent Green-Wood resident) would weep at the all-encompassing majesty... A mere $65 gets you all of this incredible action, and so much more... be sure to snag your tickets while you still can!
